Los Angeles indie pop artist D.A. Stern has unveiled the title track for their upcoming studio album Don't Take Your Heartache Out On The World today.

The track comes with an animated music video directed by Nathan Gelgud, who previously did videos for Nike and ESPN. Stern said this about the song and visual:

"I wrote the song as a sort of an "I wish that I knew what I know now when I was younger" type of sentiment. It's advice, to anybody but really to my younger self, to not let whatever is getting you down, in this case heartbreak, to cause you to have any negative will toward the rest of the world. I wanted it to be pretty naked emotionally, so the arrangement is more sparse than other tracks. Musically I was channeling Roxy Music and vocally I was doing whatever my take on a bad Prince impression is.

I wanted the video to have levity while not being pure comedy so I enlisted Nathan Gelgud to animate something. I was introduced to him through the Best Show with Tom Scharpling, a radio show/podcast which I have been a fan of for nearly 20 years and one that Nathan has been a recently frequent guest (he also did some illustrations for Tom Scharpling's memoir). He really nailed the "we're all just weirdos on the bus" sentiment beautifully."

Don't Take Your Heartache Out On The World will be available on September 13 via Symphonic/MISRA. Pre-saves for the album can be made here.
