Los Angeles dreampop act Brijean drop new single "Caldwell’s Way"
Los Angeles dreampop act Brijean have unveiled their new single "Caldwell’s Way" today.
The track, which can be heard below, is a bittersweet tune about the act’s fond memories of their Bay Area community. Brijean percussionist/singer Brijean Murphy and multi-instrumentalist/producer Doug Stuart both left the region following the deaths of family members. Murphy further explains the song, which is out on digital services right now:
“Dougie and I wrote this song in the midst of deep life changes. We found ourselves uprooted in the Southwest, processing both personal and geographic loss. I had never felt physical withdrawals from a place and community, until then. I missed The Bay and our friends in it - even thinking about certain buildings and streets brought me comfort and longing. This song is a loving farewell to the people and places I may never embrace again."
"Caldwell’s Way" stems from Brijean’s forthcoming Angelo EP, which will be released on August 5th via Ghostly International. Pre-orders/pre-saves for the release can be made here.
