L.A. Comic Con 2024 to host women's Milk Cup LAN Fortnite Championship

This year’s L.A. Comic Con will debut a massive esports tournament for women.

Revealed today, Gonna Need Milk will collaborate with the popular convention for its inaugural Milk Cup LAN Fortnite Championship taking place on Saturday, October 5. The tournament will bring together 99 of the best women gamers competing for their share of the $250,000 prize pool, which is the biggest women’s esports prize pool in North American history. The event will take place at L.A. Comic Con’s Gaming Hall.

Milk Teen Ticket for fans ages 13-17 will be available for younger fans wanting to check out the tournament. This ticket is on sale for $30, and it’ll include access to all three days of L.A. Comic Con. Those unable to attend the convention can stream it on Twitch starting at 1 p.m. More information about the Milk Cup LAN Fortnite Championship can be found here.

Chris DeMoulin, CEO at Comikaze Entertainment, L.A. Comic Con’s parent company said this about the tournament:

“We are thrilled to host The Milk Cup at this year’s show. We believe this tournament is not just about competition, it’s about creating opportunities and helping empower a community where women in gaming can thrive. We are honored to be a part of such a historic event.”

Jennifer Grubb, Senior Marketing Manager at MilkPEP also said:

“Women make up nearly half of the gaming community, yet they represent only a small fraction of professional gamers. The Milk Cup is our way of changing that narrative by offering new and inclusive opportunities that support women in esports. Beyond the event, dairy milk provides essential nutrients to support gamers, like high-quality protein, calcium, and vitamins B12 and D, crucial for brain health, focus, and sustained energy.”

Three-day and single day passes as well as VIP passes for the three-day convention can be purchased here. L.A. Comic Con will take place from October 4 through October 6 at the L.A. Convention Center in Los Angeles. Our coverage of last year’s event can be seen here.
