Kill Shelter teams up with Beborn Beton for "In This Place"
U.K. darkwave artist Kill Shelter has joined forces with German synthpop act Beborn Beton for their new single “In This Place.”
Released yesterday, the single comes with a music video directed by Julia Beyer, which can be seen below. The song and visual touch upon the issue of human trafficking.
Kill Shelter’s Pete Burns said this about the new single:
“Thousands of adults and children die or go missing every year whilst seeking refuge. The statistics are both heartbreaking and sobering. Extremely vulnerable people are constantly being abused at the hands of opportunistic criminals. In This Place tells just one of these many stories.”
Beborn Beton’s Stefan Netschio also said:
“The dark and menacing nature of In This Place is definitely a departure from what people may have come to expect from me. I worked very closely with Kill Shelter on both the track and video - it’s a deeply emotive song and needed to be treated with respect and sensitivity to get the tone and delivery right. We wanted it to be both accessible and thought-provoking.”
“In This Place” stems from Kill Shelter’s new studio album Asylum, which is out now via Manic Depression Records (Europe) and Metropolis Records (U.S.). Both U.S. and European versions come with two exclusive songs.
