Kavinsky has dropped their new single “Renegade” today.

The track, which features vocals from Cautious Clay, is the first release from the producer since 2013. The song comes with a music video directed by Alexandre Courtès, who is best known for their work with Daft Punk, U2, and Jamiroquai. Courtès said this about working on the visual:

“I wanted to include Kavinsky in a real movie where he is the hero. With all the love and references he and I share, we pay homage to the film craft we cherish. Kavinsky is back with a bang !.... wait, no actually it’s three bangs.”

“Renegade” comes from Kavinsky’s forthcoming studio album Reborn, which will be released on Astralwerks. Reborn will be the long-awaited follow-up to Kavinsky’s 2013 debut album OutRun, which peaked at number five on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. “Renegade” is available on digital services right now.
