José González and Rufus Wainwright announce 2021 U.S. co-headlining tour

José González and Rufus Wainwright will hit the road together this September.

Announced today, the Unfollow The Rules In The Local Valley co-headlining tour kicks off on September 20 inside Kansas City’s Uptown Theater, and it’ll find the act touring on the East Coast with their final performance at Glenside’s Keswick Theatre on October 1. Pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow (May 5) at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday (May 7) at 10 a.m. local time. The newly announced dates can be seen below.

González will be touring in support of their upcoming studio album Local Valley, which drops on September 17 via Mute. A new music video for “Visions” can be seen below. The visual was directed by Mikel Cee Karlsson. Pre-orders for Local Valley can be made here.

González will have two special virtual concerts in the following months. On June 10, they’ll have a performance/Q&A session taking place at Sweden’s Botanical Garden. On September 12, González will premiere their live show for their Local Valley tour. Tickets for both livestreams can be found here.

Wainwright will be touring in support of their latest studio album Unfollow the Rules, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Album. The record is nominated for a Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. The Juno Awards will take place on June 6.
