John Carmack, John Cook added to First Person Shooter documentary
The upcoming First Person Shooter documentary has added some new names slated to appear.
Announced today, id Software co-founders John and Adrian Carmack, Masters of Doom author David Kushner, Team Fortress co-developer John Cook, Red Storm Entertainment co-founder David Alan Smith, and Rainbow Six/Ghost Recon creative director Brian Upton have been added to the documentary. They’ll join previously announced game industry vets Warren Spector (Deus Ex), Ken Silverman (Ken’s Labyrinth), John Romero (Doom, Quake), Cliff Bleszinski (Gears of War), Bonnie Ross (Halo), and American McGee (Doom, Quake).
First Person Shooter will follow the FPS phenomenon from its small beginnings to its massive worldwide following. The documentary is being developed by CREATORVC, who are best known for their horror film documentaries In Search of Darkness and its 2020 sequel. Later this year, the company will release the sci-fi documentary In Search of Tomorrow.
The Kickstarter for the three-hour documentary is live right now, and it’ll end in less than two weeks. First Person Shooter is slated to be released in late 2022.
