Arizona death metal group Gatecreeper will deliver their third studio album this May.

Announced yesterday, Dark Superstition will be unveiled on May 17 via Nuclear Blast Records. The 10-track album, which finds the band working alongside Dismember drummer/songwriter Fred Estby, touches upon supernatural occurrences and magic. The title is a reference to Arizona’s own mountain range Superstition Mountains.

A new single from the album titled “The Black Curtain” comes with a music video directed by Max Moore. Vocalist Chase H. Mason said this about the new song:

“It’s about being trapped between living and dying. A soul trapped in purgatory begging to be brought back by a supernatural force.”

Pre-orders for Dark Superstition can be made here. This follows the band’s 2019 studio album Deserted.

Gatecreeper will have a slew of dates in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand before embarking on a trek across the United States with In Flames. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
