Flesh Eater join forces with Fiona Apple for new single "komfortzone"
Nashville experimental/art pop band Flesh Eater have unveiled their collaboration with Fiona Apple titled "komfortzone" today.
The track features Apple and frequent collaborator Sebastian Steinburg on piano, vibraphone, guitarron, & curio percussion. Apple and Steinburg’s parts were recorded by John Would, who worked with Apple on the albums The Idler Wheel... and Fetch the Bolt Cutters.
Flesh Eater vocalist Zwil AR said this about the new song:
"To me, ‘komfortzone’ represents confronting fear. The fear of being seen, of moving toward sharing what’s inside, meeting that where it is, seeing it, and saying, ok, this will be with me indefinitely; I’ve got to move past it.
Fear is natural, even healthy at times, but it’s not me. It feeds off of what makes it grow, and in my experience, a lot of times I’m most fearful of doing what will help me grow. Feeding that fear, doing what makes me afraid, is not so scary anymore."
“komfortzone” is available on digital services right now.
