Five acts to catch at Lollapalooza 2022

Lollapalooza returns this week for four days of exciting live music. We looked through the lineup and picked out five acts worth checking out during the festival, which takes place at Chicago’s Grant Park from July 28 through July 31. Four-day and single-day tickets are still on sale to the general public right now.

Petey
When: Thursday (July 28)
Where: Discord Stage (2:50 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.)

Los Angeles indie-rock artist Petey has transformed their TikTok fame into million of streams and sold-out shows across the country in support their latest studio album Lean Into Life. Recently, Petey released the punk-tinged cut "Big Bad."

Lorna Shore
When: Thursday (July 28)
Where: BMI Stage (6:50 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.)

Aside from headlining act Metallica, New Jersey deathcore outfit Lorna Shore will bring some heavy riffs to Coachella this weekend. The band turned heads in the metal scene with their 2021 single "To the Hellfire," which earned critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. Lorna Shore will unveil their new studio album Pain Remains this October via Century Media.

Low Cut Connie
When: Sunday (July 31)
Where: Conibase Stage (12:15 p.m. - 1 p.m.)

Since 2010, Philadelphia rock act Low Cut Connie have been gaining surprise fans in former president Barack Obama, Sir Elton John, and Bruce Springsteen. The band's 2018 studio album Dirty Pictures (Part 2) catapulted them to national attention with an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers and performances at Newport Folk Festival and Bonnaroo. The band's last proper studio album was 2020's Private Lives.

Ericdoa
When: Saturday (July 30)
Where: Coinbase Stage (12:30 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.)

Singer-songwriter Ericdoa has been one of the leading voices in the hyperpop scene since the release of their 2019 debut EP DOA. The act's stock skyrocketed after their track "sad4whattt" was included in an episode of the hit HBO drama Euphoria. Back in May, the artist unveiled their new studio album Things With Wings.

Giovannie and the Hired Guns
When: Thursday (July 28)
Where: BMI Stage (4:30 p.m. - 5:10 p.m.)

Texan rock band Giovannie & The Hired Guns found themselves wowing crowds at local shows to opening for Jason Aldean in front of nearly 40,000 people at Globe Life Park Stadium The act recently gained their first number one single on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart with “Ramon Ayala.” Their Lollapalooza performance comes during a national tour to promote the forthcoming release of their new album Tejano Punk Boys.
