Diablo II: Resurrected arriving to consoles and PC later this year

Diablo II is getting a full makeover with Diablo II: Resurrected.

Announced at BlizzCon, Diablo II: Resurrected, which includes the 2000 game and its 2001 expansion Lord of Destruction, will deliver a stunning visual upgrade fit for 4k resolution devices. Players can choose to switch between the updated graphics and the game’s original 2D offering. If that’s not enough, cross-progression will be available for those looking to play this title on multiple platforms. The announcement trailer and BlizzCon panel surrounding the forthcoming release can be seen below.

In a statement, Blizzard Entertainment president J. Allen Brack said:

“Diablo II was a pivotal game for Blizzard and millions of players around the world. With Diablo II: Resurrected, we’re excited to bring this classic back to PC and also to consoles—with cross-progression on supported platforms—so that players can relive their memories, or experience Diablo II’s timeless gameplay for the first time, on their platform of choice. With the new high-resolution audio and video in Diablo II: Resurrected, the game is as fun and engrossing today as it was twenty years ago.”
