Def Jam and Marvel Comics team up for Black Panther short stories

A trio of Def Jam Records’ rising acts will collaborate with Marvel Comics for special short stories in forthcoming issues of Black Panther.

Announced today, the collaboration will kick off with this month’s issue (Black Panther #23) as singer Saint Bodhi delivers their own take on Storm. March’s issue (Black Panther #24) will find rapper Bobby Sessions telling a special story about Black Panther himself. April’s issue (Black Panther #25) will conclude the collaboration with R&B singer Kaash Paige revealing a story about Shuri.

In a statement, Def Jam partnerships consultant Jonathan Rheingold said:

“Bringing these two logos together was a dream. There was a mutual desire to unite these two great brands for a mission and a cause — leveraging Def Jam's rising stars and the legendary Marvel characters to tell powerful stories that would make an emotional connection with fans of both cultures.”

In October, Saint Bodhi released their debut album Mad World. Bobby Sessions recently collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion for “I'm a King” from the Coming 2 America soundtrack. Kaash Paige released their debut album Teenage Fever back in August. You can check out their music here.
