Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 returning to Tokyo
A bevy of details surrounding next year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards has been unveiled today at CCXP in Brazil.
The ceremony will make its return to Tokyo, Japan on May 25 with singer/voice talent Sally Amaki and Japanese presenter Jon Kabira returning as co-hosts. Sony Group Corporation Chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida is slated to deliver opening remarks at the ceremony.
While in Brazil, it was only fair to reveal the first-ever Brazilian celebrity presenter for the ceremony with drag pop icon and musician Pabllo Vittar slated to appear. The artist has earned a plethora of hits in their home country, including "Modo Turbo,” "Corpo Sensual,” and "K.O." This year, the artist gained their first Hot 100 single in the States with “Alibi."
The 2025 installment of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards will feature one major change in nomination eligibility with the updated eligibility period expanding from October 1 2023 to December 31, 2024. Future award ceremonies will see the eligibility period change from January 1 to December 31.
Nominees will be revealed on April 3, which is the same day fan voting will go live. Fans will have until April 14 to vote for their favorite anime in a plethora of categories. A full list of categories, including new ones such as Best Isekai and Best Hindi Voice Artist, can be seen here. The ceremony will be livestreamed for the world to see.
