Atari has announced a special remix contest surrounding the forthcoming Yars Rising game.

Starting today, the company has joined forces with Los Angeles music production school ICON Collective for the Yars Rising remix contest, which allows anyone to submit a remix for the track "Disconnection" by Moe Shop feat. YUCe. All genres are welcome for this competition. Submissions for the remix contest close on July 12.

Moe Shop said this about the contest:

"I felt very honored being approached by WayForward to write music for Yars Rising. I've been a fan since Mighty Switch Force 1 & 2, and a big appeal for me was the music featured in these games (produced by Jake Kaufman). As a fan, I tried my best recreating the excitement I felt from these soundtracks for Yars Rising in my own style. I really connected with the universe and the art direction, and for this song, I knew exactly what I wanted to go for sonically with YUC'e."

The grand prize winner, which will be announced on the week of July 15, will have their remix placed in the Yars Rising Orignal Soundtrack, recognition on Atari and ICON social media channels, a Yars Rising physical care package (including a game code for the platform of their choice), and one month of weekly mentor sessions with an elite ICON Instructor. Yars Rising will be released on Windows PC (via Steam and Epic Games), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders and wishlisting for the game can be made here.
