Anime Expo Chibi 2024 takes over Ontario Convention Center this weekend

The 2024 installment of Anime Expo Chibi will go down at the Ontario Convention Center this weekend.

The two-day event, which takes place on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 is a smaller scaled version of the popular Anime Expo convention. Attendees will be able to get autographs from voice talent such as Cristina Vee (Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Hunter x Hunter), Leeanna Albanese (Persona 5 Tactica), and Robbie Daymond (Jujutsu Kaisen, Spider-Man).

For those looking to check out some great anime, the convention will have over 40 screenings at the Screening Room, including episodes of Black Butler, Bocchi The Rock!, and Trigun Stampede. A slew of live performances will also take place at the Chibi Plaza Stage, including a Future Funk event (Ken Harada, Engelwood, and Macross 82-99) and ai’s idol showcase on Saturday.

Gaming will be present at the convention with a handful of tournaments as well as console, arcade, and tabletop gaming for those looking for some casual fun. As expected, a slew of exhibitors and small artists will be present for those looking to pick up an item or support small creators.

Ray Chiang, CEO of SPJA said this about the event:

“We have been so humbled by our fans’ enthusiasm in celebrating and uplifting the unique and deep culture that surrounds Japanese animation. It has been so much fun to continue creating a space where everyone feels welcome. We cannot wait for our fans to explore the fun activities and experiences the team has worked hard to develop.”
