Filmmakers can now submit their movies for the 2021 Gen Con Film Festival.

Film submissions, which will close on June 31, can be made on FilmFreeway. This film festival focuses on genres appealing to the average Gen Con attendee (fantasy, sci-fi, gaming, etc). The winners of the film festival will be revealed on Thursday, September 16th. Winners of Best Feature Film and The Ovid Award ("most interesting and creative story") will each earn $1,000 while winners of Best Short Film and Best Web Series will walk away with $250. There will also be certificates for Best Animated Film, Best Gamer Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Fantasy Film, Best Sci-fi Film, Best Horror Film, Best Fan Film, and Best Comedy Film.

Filmmakers will have their movies screened at both Gen Con and Gen Con Online, which takes place from September 16 through September 19. More information about this year’s Gen Con can be found here. Badge registration for the in-person event will open on May 23 while registration for Gen Con Online and Pop-Up Gen Con will open on June 27.
